We are looking for an ambitious Prep Cook to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes.
A great prep cook will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job. You will be deft and able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team.
A Prep Cook typically performs the following tasks on a day-to-day basis:
Food Preparation: This involves chopping, dicing, and slicing vegetables, fruits, and meats as per the recipe requirements. Prep Cooks also measure and assemble ingredients for cooking.
Meal Planning: They assist with planning and organizing the preparation of meals, ensuring that the necessary ingredients and supplies are available.
Stocking and Replenishing: Prep Cooks are responsible for ensuring that kitchen supplies are stocked and replenished as needed. This includes checking inventory levels and notifying the appropriate personnel when supplies need to be ordered.
Equipment Maintenance: They assist with the cleaning, maintenance, and organization of kitchen equipment, including knives, cutting boards, and food prep utensils.
Recipe Execution: Prep Cooks follow recipes and cooking procedures to prepare dishes, following proper portioning and presentation techniques.
Sanitation and Cleanliness: They maintain a clean and sanitary work area by adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. This includes regular cleaning of workspaces, equipment, and storage areas.
