We are looking for a skilled Litigation Paralegal to be the backbone of our trial team. You will be responsible for the coordination of all the details before, during and after trial. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process including conducting interviews, legal research, document filing and attending trials.
A Litigation Paralegal assists attorneys in preparing legal documents, organizing files, conducting research, and managing case materials. On a day-to-day basis, their tasks typically include:
Legal Research: Conducting research on case law, statutes, regulations, and legal articles to support attorneys in building their legal arguments and developing case strategies.
Case Preparation: Assisting attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and legal briefs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to court rules and deadlines.
Document Management: Organizing and maintaining case files, including indexing and cataloging documents, tracking deadlines, and managing electronic data.
Discovery Process: Assisting with the discovery phase of litigation, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and requests for admissions. Organizing and summarizing the collected information for attorney review.
Trial Preparation: Assisting in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, preparing trial binders, and drafting witness lists and exhibit indexes.
Assisting with Depositions: Preparing outlines for depositions, organizing exhibits, and attending depositions to take notes or support the attorney.
Client Communication: Communicating with clients, witnesses, court officials, and opposing counsel to coordinate meetings, depositions, and hearings.
Court Filings: Managing the filing of court documents electronically or in person and keeping track of filing deadlines.
Trial Support: Attending and assisting during trials, which may involve presenting exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and taking notes.
Administrative Tasks: Performing various administrative duties, such as maintaining the calendar, scheduling appointments, answering calls, and managing correspondence.
